9th Feb, 2017 to 17th Feb, 2017 at Skylight Clarkson Sq, New York, United States Of America New York Fashion Now explores the story of 20 designers who launched their own labels only in 5 years i.e. from 1999 – 2016. Key to their success is due to some focused support of fashion press retailers & manufacturers as well as the funded design competitions. The product range included men’s wear & sports wear chic. New York Fashion Now captures the significant moment of design productivity both with in the regional area & in the overseas market. Tracing New York’s emergence after the Second World War as a major international fashion centre and looking at the important designers of the period, including Claire McCardell and Geoffrey Beene, it also takes in the last quarter of the 20th century which was dominated by the ready-to-wear empires of designers such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger.
